On Monday my doorbell rang, so I hopped up and opened the door. My delivery man was gone but there sat a GIGANTIC box with a beautiful “Happy Holidays from Hasbro” sticker starring me in the face.
James wasn’t home from school yet. Colin asked if he could open HIS package. I told him I had to look in the box first and if it wasn’t a present, he could look in the box when Bub got home.
I cut the tape and peeked in the box to find three Hasbro KRE-O Transformers sets! KRE-O Transformers sets let kids build Transformer characters in robot or vehicle modes using the same bricks! Each set also comes with KREON figures, featuring your favorite Autobots and Decepticons!
I knew I wouldn’t be able to wait for Christmas, but I did keep it a secret until after dinner! 😉
After we ate, my husband put down a sheet on the living room floor. James grabbed 10 (or so) paper bowls out of the pantry and we sat down to open the box. Only my husband knew what we were opening at that point!
Because the box was already cut, we let the boys pull it open and look inside. They were SO excited!!
We started with the two small boxes – Decepticon Ambush and Cycle Chase (meant for ages 6 and up). They were both quick and easy. Probably 15 minutes (or less) each.
Then we moved on to the LARGE box – Destruction Site Devastator (meant for ages 8 and up). This 560 piece set is a 9-in-1 creation. You can make one GIANT robot, four vehicles or four robots. I made the decision that we would be creating the giant robot – a decision that was no argued!
My husband opened the package, gave the three packets of directions to James and instructed Colin to set each bag in a different paper bowl. We opened each bag and poured them into the bowl, as they seemed to be bagged by type/style. Flat pieces in one bag, joints in another, etc. It was very easy to find them that way!!
I set out the pieces James would need for each step and he assembled the giant robot until it was bedtime. (It’s a little challenging to distinguish between the charcoal gray and black pieces in the instruction manual.) At that point, my husband took over. It took about 2 1/2 hours, start to finish, to complete the robot.
The boys have played with the Robot, vehicles and KREONS everyday! It’s definitely worth it for me to buy more sets! (Shh! I have one wrapped under the tree already!)
The only thing I didn’t like about the sets is that they come with teeny-tiny stickers which you have to put on certain pieces. There aren’t many stickers, but have tweezers handy so that you can apply them with some amount of ease.
Hasbro KRE-O Transformers sets would make a great present this Christmas! They provide kids with something exciting to play with, but also something that will not lose it’s appeal! And at just $2.99, The KREON Micro Changers Mystery Bags would make great stocking stuffers! Each mystery bag contains a random KREON figure which can also convert into an alternate mode like a jet or an insect!
Have your kids asked for KRE-O Transformer Sets? Which one will they be getting?!

I would have been so excited to get that as a kid, Some of my favorite toys all in one. (I would probably still be pretty excited even at my age)
