Road trips are loads of fun and a great way to make a ton of memories! However, they can also be a little daunting. I mean, trying to pack the car and keep the kids entertained isn’t always easy. Here are some hacks and tips that will make your next road trip easier.
Cell phone holder – If you are using your cell phone as a GPS unit, you want to be able to have it where you can see it, right? Well, you can easily make a DIY cell phone holder with a binder clip and 2 rubber bands. Just bend the curved ends of the binder clip so they “hug” your cell phone. Wrap both the rubber bands around the clip ends, then attach the clip to a car vent.
Trash can – On a road trip, you are likely to have some trash and you need somewhere to put it, right? Make your own instant trash can by adding a trash can liner to a cereal dispenser. Viola! Trash can!
Snack containers – If you are heading out on a road trip, you will need snacks. To keep snacks in a spill-proof container, use an empty coffee creamer bottle. Just wash out an empty bottle and allow to dry well. Then, fill it is with Cheerios, pretzels or Goldfish crackers and you are ready to go!
Easy eating – Eating on the road can be tricky at times. To solve this issue, take along a plastic shower caddy or two. You can easily organize burger, fries and a drink in one of these, to make mealtime a cinch!
Essentials kit – Pack a square plastic bin with essentials that you will need for your road trip, so they are within reach and easy to grab in a hurry. Paper towels pretty much pick up any spill. Moist wipes clean up sticky hands in a jiffy. Hand sanitizer is a must-have before eating. Tissues are ideal for wiping away those little snots!
