Do you have a zillion fidget spinners in all shapes and sizes laying around your house? Put them to work and make a DIY Mickey Mouse T-Shirt! This tutorial is incredibly simple but creates such a fun product, which my husband calls a Hidden Mickey Splatter Shirt.

I wish I’d had the motivation to make this shirt before my recent trip to Disneyland because I just love how it turned out! (Other than the big ol’ blotch on the left side, thanks to my goof of a ‘helper.’)
How to Make a Mickey Mouse T-Shirt:
Supplies –
- T-Shirt
- Acrylic Paint, 2 – 3 colors
- 1 Medium or Large Fidget Spinner
- Water Dropper
- Wax Paper
- 2 – 3 Small Disposable Cups & Spoons
- Water
- Paper Towels
Directions –
- Wash and dry the t-shirt.
- Put a piece of wax paper between the shirt (to keep the paint from seeping through).
- Shake paint and pour about a tablespoon in a disposable cup.
- Mix a few drops of water into the paint but don’t make it too thin. It should slide off the spoon but not too quickly.
- Decide where you want the Mickey ‘body’ to be on your shirt. Set the fidget spinner in that spot.
- Using the water dropper, put paint on the corners of the spinner.
- Push down in the center of the fidget spinner and SPIN! (The paint will ‘fly’ off and make a rough circle shape.)
- Add paint as many times as necessary to achieve the look you want.
- Move the fidget spinner to the first Mickey ‘ear’ spot and repeat steps 6 – 8 before moving to the second ‘ear’ spot.
- Wash and dry the fidget spinner before moving on to the next color(s).
- Allow at least 24 hours to dry before wearing.
- Wear your DIY Mickey Mouse t-shirt proudly!
I had so much fun using the fidget spinners to make a tie-dye looking splatter pattern! Ididn’t time this project but I’d say it only took about 15 minutes to put together.
The hardest part of the entire project was waiting for the paint to dry! Once that finally happened, I had my helper is model it for me:
