Oral care is so important. The lack of oral hygiene could lead to tooth decay and gum disease. In addition, oral health problems could lower the body’s resistance to infection and might contribute to other diseases.
I can’t tell you how often I stress the importance of oral hygiene (heroic habits) to my kids. And while they may balk at the thought of brushing and flossing now, James and Colin will thank me when they are older. My kids’ oral care schedule is pretty simple. Brush for at least two minutes every morning, brush (again, two minutes) & floss every evening before bed and then use mouthwash every other day.
The hubs and I don’t complain about taking care of our mouths. In fact, the first thing I do when I get out of bed is brush my teeth. We have much the same schedule except we use mouthwash on a daily basis.
My family’s oral care routines don’t change with the seasons. It’s essential that those regimens stay the same no matter what.
Just last weekend, my husband and I were watching TV. A commercial come on for the LISTERINE HEALTHY WHITE GENTLE Rinse. I love the Smart Rinse, my kids will actually USE it and it makes me feel like they are doing a better job keeping it clean. Of course, it is only acceptable if it has a BOY character on it.
But of course! I love the Smart Rinse because it has the measuring cup attached to the top!
I haven’t been as vigilante about my kids oral habits lately as they grew up, I think I’m going to reacquaint them with Listerine!

I didn’t take care of my teeth as a child and it doomed me to a life of frustration. I try to maintain a pretty good oral care regimen now, but I’m battling old sins.
My son loves the Smart Rinse and my husband is a big fan of the pocket pack strips.
We’ve always been fairly strict about oral hygiene with our girls and last year my then 6 year old decided to bring a toothbrush and tube of tooth paste to school so she could brush her teeth after lunch.
My boys LOVE to use the Smart Rinse. It’s definitely helped them have better oral care.

We use listrine and never miss our twice a year dental appointment. Thankfully we are cavities free and hope to stay that way. We need to be more diligent about flossing, that’s one thing the dentist reminds us all the time.
Listerine is a must at our house. I love all of their floss too!
I use Listerine every day! But my kids are still struggling with getting into a routine. But I won’t stop until they do. They have used Smart Rinse in the past but we haven’t had any in a while so I”ll have to get it again.
I’ve been lucky that mine never fussed about brushing! But anything that makes it fun sure doesn’t hurt!
My daughter is finally starting to not give me such a hard time about brushing… time to add flossing or wash.
I am pretty good about my oral healthcare. Although I am traveling right now and really wish I had packed some dental floss.
I haven’t tried those little mouth strips in so long. I remember I use to love these when everyone else hated them and now they seem to be every where.
Love the Smart Rinse for the kids but man those PocketPaks are amazing to never get caught off guard with bad breathe again.
When I was a child I was so scared of the dentist that I never went back and also because my parents could not afford it. I didn’t want my kids to be the same way so once my son was big enough to go to the dentist I took him. He saw that the instruments the dr used was not scary at all. They actually tickled him. At the end they would give him a goody back filled with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, stickers and a small bottle of Listerine. My son loves going to the dentist. He uses the Listerine rinse everyday. Oral hygiene is really important and if you instill it at an early age its even better.

I love Listerine! It’s my favorite brand, I’ve used it for years. My son keeps asking to use that Smart Rinse and is so excited that he’s almost old enough!
My daughter’s just had checkups today and my oldest has signs of decay. It’s disappointing. Unfortunately, it looks like she inherited weak teeth from my side of the family.
