**Full Disclosure: As a Papa Murphy’s Mom, I receive products, promotional items and educational material to use and share as I see fit. All opinions are my own.
After my husband and I got married, we went to Washington and Oregon to visit his family. One night during that trip we babysat his niece and nephews. They were hungry and Papa Murphy’s Pizza was on the menu. We loaded the kids in the car, picked up one stuffed and one family size pizza. I was sold after the first bite. It was delicious, fresh and has been on my list of favorites since that day!
We pick up Papa Murphy’s for dinner at least three times a month. When I was offered a chance to visit the Papa Murphy’s closest to my house for a behind the scenes tour, I jumped at it! I got to see how the pizza dough is made (in a gigantic mixer!) and put onto baking sheets. I learned about the toppings – most all of them are brought in fresh and cut up in the store. Some (pineapple & olives) are canned, but they are quality, name brand foods. It was quite the experience!
When you walk into any Papa Murphy’s, you can expect consistency – the same pizza, flavor, etc. every time. The dough rises over night and is rolled out every morning, the cheese is weighed out according to pizza size and toppings are measured in cups. The weighing and measuring makes for a pizza that cooks perfectly every time but it also helps control costs.
For the gluten-free folks, there will be a GF option later this year! The gluten-free dough will be prepared off-site and sent to stores.
After the tour, I was allowed to make my very own pizza. It was a blast – and apparently I’m pretty good because they offered me a job!
Have you had Papa Murphy’s Pizza? What are your favorite toppings?
