Do you feel like you know me yet?! Today I am interviewing … myself! That sounds strange, doesn’t it?!
Here is another blog carnival topic (brought to you by Trisha from MomDot)!!
1. What advice would you give your 16 year old self?
Tell the special people in your life that you love them. Enjoy the time you have with those you love. Life will throw you curve balls, handle them with grace. You will marry someone that you have only known for four months.
(Me at 16 – I look the same, just fatter, now. Oh, and I don’t stick my snow-cone colored tongue out anymore.)
2. How many pets do you own?
Three. Beast, Frank and Slim.
The hubs and I got Beast about a month after we married. He was part of a stray kitten litter on base and we gave him a home (his siblings were adopted by some friends)!
With Frank, a friend had ONE stray kitten and needed to find him a home. He was SO CUTE, so we took him home. James was about 6 months old when we adopted Frank.
(Not So) Slim was part of a stray litter that Mom found in her backyard. James was about 3 years old when we brought Slim home.
{Are you seeing a pattern with how we adopt our cats?!}
3. What did you want to be when you grew up and did you follow your dreams?
I’ve wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I am about 3 classes (one English class and student teaching) shy of having a degree in Education. Wanting to be a teacher changed after I took my pre-student teaching classes. Now I’d like to do something in Education – I just don’t want to TEACH kids that are not my own.
4. What was your first car?
It was a Honda Civic. I called it my P.O.S. I want to say it was a 90-something. The P.O.S. was red and worked for what I needed. (I was supposed to get my Dad’s old truck, but I just did NOT want that thing – so he sold it and we bought my car.)
5. If you had a plane ticket in your hand right now to go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Tahiti!! Because I want to stay here:

We share somethings in common- I have a rescued cat, I used to want to be a teacher, but now just want to serve in education, not necessarily teaching, and I’d love to go to Tahiti. The advice you give your former 16-year-old self is really good advice. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with Trisha – definitely re-do the sno-cone photo! It’s so fun. And your cats are adorable.

Sweet kitties. My husband is allergic so no cats for us. No matter how much my son begs.
