I’ve made my own card organizer in the past. It worked well but was about the size of a 4×6 photo so I was always searching for it. I decided it was about time I made another DIY Card Organizer to house the birthday cards I send throughout the year.
I headed to Walmart to pick up everything I’d need to make it – including the cards to stuff it with.
You’ll Need:
- 1/2 inch Binder
- Package of Cardstock
- Double-stick Tape
- Cards
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
In addition to picking up a handful of Hallmark cards starting at 47 cent cards (exclusive to Walmart!), I also grabbed a few of the new ©2015 MARVEL Avengers cards. I needed two cards for May birthdays – one for a cousin and one for my husband’s best friend. The ©2015 MARVEL Avengers cards were too great to pass up for both birthdays! I also picked up a cute little Hideaway Captain America and an Iron Man PEZ dispenser to send off with the cards.
Once home, I created a ‘cover sheet’ and a printable birthday list.
Then I put together my card organizer!
How To:
- Print the ‘cover page’ and slip it in the front of the binder.
- Pick 12 pieces of cardstock as the base of each page.
- Now pick out 6 more pieces and cut them in half.
- Using the double stick tape, attach the half sheet to the full sheet. (Remember to leave the top of the half sheet open!)
- Print the birthday list (above) and cut each one to fit on the half sheet of cardstock. Attach.
- Insert cards for each birthday on your list.
- #SendSmiles when you mail them every month!
The ©2015 MARVEL Avengers cards didn’t stay in my new card organizer long, but I can’t wait to send these small packages off tomorrow morning!

How cute! I have a stash of extra cards that I’ve purchased, but I don’t have them organized. It’s a great idea so they’ll stay pretty.

These are cute. I think this may cause kids to want to get their hands on all the cards in our collection.

This is a great idea. But I have chosen to use a shoebox and I put dividers in it with labels like juvenile birthday adult birthday, sympathy, anniversary, wedding, get well, just notes to friends, Exedra. Then at the beginning of each month I pull out the cards for that months an address them and stamp them and put a stick-em note on them on when the actual birthday is so I can mail them four days ahead of time.

Yours is a great idea, too!
