My goal is to reach 10,000 steps every day – and having a pedometer is HUGE to helping me succeed. When I received the FitBit Zip a few weeks ago, I was SUPER thrilled to replace my other (bulkier) step counter.
About the FitBit Zip:
It tracks your steps, distance, and calories burned – and syncs those stats to your computer and select smartphones. In doing so, it celebrates how much more you do each day. Zip™ encourages you to set goals, challenge friends, and go farther – one step at time. That’s how you turn everyday life into a social, achievable, awesome path to fitness.
What I Like:
- I adore how little bitty, teeny tiny the FitBit Zip is!! It fits anywhere and I forget I even have it on/with me! (Sometimes I am afraid I will forget to take it off my clothes, but so far, that hasn’t happened.)
- I LOVE how it is always making me want to go farther and do more.
- The badges and achievements help, but competing against my friends is what REALLY motivates me!
- You can currently sync your FitBit Zip to certain Apple devices, the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
What I’d Change:
- I don’t want the dashboard to tell me how much of my day was spent sitting on my rear. I know I am “sedentary” a lot – but I get my workout and 10K steps in {almost} everyday.
- I don’t understand how the “calories burned” part works. Even if I don’t wear my FitBit, it tells me the number of calories burned.
- I never remember to log my food or exercise. I might get a better understanding if I did those! 😉
- I’d love the FitBit Zip to track my sleeping habits.
You’re just steps away from better fitness.

I love my fitbit Zip. I agree with you though, I would have really loved it to track my sleep, other than that I love mine!

I have the Ultra which isn’t sold anymore but I looove it! Seeing how stationary I am most of the day has gotten me to get up and move more. Even if it’s just running in place for 5 minutes haha. I love the leaderboard and trying to beat my friends. 🙂

OH! A timer function would be cool! I have every intention of getting up and jogging in place for 5 minutes every hour, but then I get busy and forget.

Mine does have a timer but I don’t use it other then for sleep time. Buuuut I just stand infront of a clock and run. I need to set up a timer on my phone to go off like once an hour so I get up and move. 🙂

My husband has a cool timer app on his phone. I need to find out what it’s called.

I think I have one too! I should use it lol

I have been wanting a Fitbit for a while! Sounds like the money is definetly worth the motivation to invest in one!

I definitely think so! I used to look at the number all day long, now I try to only look a couple times a day.

The calories also ads in the calories you burn just being alive every day. So when you wake up and you haven’t stepped a single step it’ll show you that you’ve burned calories already. I wish it would only show exercise calories, though.
