The Kenmore Mixer and My Thoughts!

Do you remember that I got to go to Chicago for the Kenmore Blogging Summit?  Yes?  GREAT!

Let me start by saying Kenmore is AMAZING!  Before heading to Chicago, I was asked to rank my small appliance needs (1 -5) in the order I would want them — my numero uno was the Kenmore Mixer.  When I was at the Kenmore Live Studio, I tweeted that I had to have that Mixer!  It was BEAUTIFUL and it needed to become a part of my kitchen!  I had NO CLUE that it was about to be mine!  At the end of our time at the Kenmore Live Studio, the reps were announcing winners for the day and we were told “You are ALL winners!  You will be getting the number one choice on your list!”  HOLY MOLY AWESOMESAUCE!!!  I was beyond excited!

Well, that super-dooper mixer showed up Wednesday (1.25) afternoon and before my husband was home from work, it was out of it’s boxed washed and ready for use!  I’d made cupcakes Tuesday evening, so I decided I’d better wait a day or two before I put my new mixer to the test.

I couldn’t wait, so this afternoon I broke out my Kenmore Mixer!  Colin and I made Chocolate Chip Cookies (minus the nuts) – and then we dumped in some mini marshmallows!  YUMMMOOOO!!!

          

The Kenmore Mixer is a little louder than my other stand mixer, but it has so many features that make it BETTER than that other mixer.

AWESOME Features:

• The LED light above the bowl is perfect!
• The automatic lock on the head – I love this!  There is NO WAY my kids will have smooshed fingers!
• It’s SOOOOO light compared to the other stand mixer in my house.  I have NO trouble moving the Kenmore from place to place.
• It comes with 2 bowls – a 3 quart and a 5 quart – which is great for making cookies or a cake AND icing.
• I was not covered in flour when I was done mixing!

Ideas for Improvement:

• A lid for the bowl(s) … Since I made cookies in the middle of the afternoon, I wanted to store the rest of the dough in the bowl (so as not to dirty another dish).  I covered it with Saran wrap, but a lid would be so much more convenient.

Readers have given this mixer 4 out of 5 stars.

I would give the mixer 4.5 out of 5.  My reasoning – level 1 is a noisy level, once you get to 2, it’s not nearly as loud.  That’s the only reason I would take away 1/2 a star.
