The holidays are insanely crazy! We spend a lot of time with our families as a whole but do we make time for our spouses? If your home is anything like mine, the answer is no. I’ve been married for 15 years, however, I’m just learning that it’s important to reconnect with your spouse between holidays because all that quality family time can be stressful!

How to Reconnect with Your Spouse Between Holidays –
- Choose commitments wisely.
- Discuss where you’ll go for the holidays and which parties you’d like to attend with your spouse. Then be selective with those holiday commitments. This will help minimize stressful interactions so you’ll be able to enjoy the events.
- Create intimate moments.
- In a house full of people, it can be hard to have intimate moments. But with a little bit of planning and effort, you can have fun as a couple and nourish your bond. Sneak out to get coffee together or go to bed early and talk some time to talk about your favorite parts of the day.
- Have special traditions.
- Maybe you alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas with the in-laws. Perhaps you take the kids to see the same holiday attractions every year. Family traditions are important! Spouse traditions are just as important. Maybe you make time for a date to see Christmas lights.
- Make time for one another.
- This could be a special tradition! Leave the kids with a trusted babysitter so you can spend the night at a hotel like the Courtyard by Marriott SeaWorld Westover Hills.
For the first time ever, my husband and I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott SeaWorld Westover Hills between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It amazing! After we checked in, we went out for dinner and then went back to lay in bed while we watched TV. Having an entire day to ourselves was just what we needed – we weren’t listening to the kids arguing, we didn’t have to tell Colin to get back in bed a zillion times and we were able to laugh together.
