The grilled cheese sandwich is such a versatile food. Everyone has their own way to make it.
Me? I like mine made with a French bread (very thinly sliced), Asiago cheese, green apples and bacon.
First, cook the bacon (I cut mine into little pieces with kitchen shears). Then slice and butter your bread. Put the buttered sides into your warm skillet and add your cheese. Let the cheese melt. Take the 2 pieces of cheese bread out of the skillet, add your bacon and your super-thin green apple slices. Close and ENJOY!
But recently, my kiddos have been on a tortilla kick so I have slightly altered the recipe.
Heat your tortilla in the microwave with the Asiago cheese on it for about 15-20 seconds. Add your (already cooked) bacon and green apple chunks. **Note: James does NOT like green apples, so I use Gala apples for him.**

Yum! That sounds delicious! I like my grilled cheese with american cheese and yellow mustard 🙂 Not too exciting, but it’s tasty! 🙂
