Summer snacks look much different than school year snacks at our house. During the school year, I don’t allow big snacks because they ruin my kids’ appetites for dinner. Summer snacks are a little more laid back because the boys can snack earlier in the day so as not to ruin our evening meal. I like to provide protein-packed snacks that will give my boys the energy to play longer (and sleep better). State Fair® Corn Dogs are one of their favorite snacks!

There are so many ways to top a corn dog – with ketchup, mustard, mayo, chili, shredded cheese and more. My boys like to eat their corn dogs with a very easy to make cheese dip. It’s so easy to make that they can do it themselves, which I am all for! And, it makes enough for about 8 corn dogs, depending on how much dip is used on each corn dog.

State Fair Corn Dogs and Cheese Dip Recipe #PowerTheirPlay

Ingredients

• 2 TBSP Ro*Tel
• 2 TBSP Sour Cream
• 1 1/4 cup Mild Cheddar cubed

Instructions

1. Place all ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl.
2. Heat for 2 minutes at 50% power.
3. Stir.
4. Heat for 2 minutes at 20% power.
5. Stir & serve.
6. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Because it's real cheddar, this cheese dip will firm up rather quickly.

State Fair Corn Dogs with cheese dip doesn’t take a lot of effort but it’s a snack my kids love! Plus, it’s a good source of protein. It doesn’t matter how you eat it – spread it, dip it, spoon it on – whichever you choose, enjoy it!
