My family and I really enjoy road trips and we plan for at least a month before we leave to ensure we don’t forget anything. We can’t predict when someone might get sick but we can plan for it with a medicine box specifically made for road trips.
You really never know what you might need on a road trip. Having things like Advil, Chapstick, heartburn treatment and more are crucial to putting an end to the yuckies and having a successful road trip.
Making a medicine box for road trips is easy.
Supplies:
- Small box
- Medicines including –
- Advil
- Children’s Advil
- Thermacare
- Emergen-C
- Chapstick
- Nexium 24HR
- Bandages
Make your road trip medicine box your own by packing the things you know your family will need.
Instructions:
- Stock up on Pfizer products at Walgreens.
- Recycle a small box or buy a new one.
- Fill the box with your medicines.
- Make sure you pack it in your car the next time you hit the road.
- Use products as needed.
I keep a variety of products in the portable medicine box so we have all the essentials in that container while we are on the road and don’t have to stop for much. Put the box in a handy spot amongst your travel gear. You’ll want easy access should you need it!
My family and I didn’t make any road trips this summer and most of our products were expired so our portable medicine cabinet had been disassembled. However, we are preparing for an upcoming road trip so I went to Walgreens and stocked up on my Pfizer essentials.
This month, you can save $15 dollars on Pfizer products at Walgreens!
It never fails – something is usually left behind and we have to stop to replace whatever that item is. But we aren’t stuck without the important things like medicine.

You never know what can happen while you’re driving. I love the idea of keeping a travel first aid kit in the car so you’re ready for anything that might happen when you’re away from home! #client

Great idea & so important to think of before leaving home. I have a similar medicine box for camping because the last thing I want when I’m out in the woods is to be unprepared. Been there. Done that.

I have a travel first aid “box” mine is in a bright orange lunch bag. Hangs on inside door knob for the linen closet. We both put our prescription drugs in daily reminder pill boxes but we do a month at a time (5 rotating sets each).. We keep our extra weeks in the medical bag. The medical bag goes with us when ever we leave town driving or flying. Since it is so easy to locate it gets grabbed faster than items in our true first aid box.

That’s a great idea! I toss all of our prescription meds in right before we leave – which is always risky because I COULD forget!
Susan says
Be careful of leaving meds in a hot car as the heat could affect them adversely.

Yes – you are very correct!

I put all RX bottles, other remedies and first aid stuff in an old fashion “train case” with handle on top and a metal latch. Perfect for taking in each night while traveling and nothing ever spills or gets lost. Used to come in sets of luggage. Can still find at yard sales.
