Have you ever changed a flat tire?
It’s been a really long time since I learned how to change a tire. I am incredibly lucky because I *knock on wood* haven’t gotten a flat tire while driving down the road so I haven’t had the opportunity to practice. (The only time I’ve had a flat tire, I found it before I got in my car.) I’m not sure I’d remember the step-by-step process of changing a tire and, in all honesty, I’d probably just call roadside assistance. But I think knowing how to change a tire is smart.
Luckily, my husband does remember those steps and was willing to share, in great detail, the task.
How to Change a Flat Tire:
- Find a safe spot to pull over.
- Gather your tools.
- Loosen the lug nuts.
- Lift the vehicle off the ground with a jack.
- Remove the lug nuts & tire.
- Put the spare tire on.
- Bring the car down.
- Tighten the lug nuts.
- Put your tools back in the car.
