About Pocket Disc:
In 2005, Pocket Disc was inadvertently created by 9-year old Savanna. She had to crochet a doily for her 3rd grade school project but added a few too many drop stitches at the outer edge of the trivet causing it to curl and form a small lip. Over a year later, a family friend tossed the doily across her living room. It took awhile, but Pocket Disc was born. They are a member of the Fair Trade Federation. Each Pocket Disc is made in Guatemala by over 150 artisans.
I was drawn to the Pocket Disc as a stocking stuffer because it is a 100%-cotton frisbee alternative. Pocket Disc is available in an indoor and outdoor variety with many color and style options. The Indoor Edition Pocket Discs start at $9.99 and are thinner, easier to catch, and more appropriate for little kids and indoor play. The indoor disc can be used outdoors but it won’t operate as well as the sports edition. The Sports Edition Pocket Discs start at $14.99 and are heavier, fly farther and are geared more toward outdoor play.
The Pocket Disc is made with colorfast cotton and is machine washable. The toy is appropriate for fun-lovers over the age of 3.
