I eat out with my family once or twice a week. We rotate restaurants and CiCi’s Pizza is in our line-up because it’s reasonably priced and we can eat as much as we want. When I was invited to a preview event to check out all the changes CiCi’s Pizza is making, I couldn’t turn it down. I was excited to see what changes CiCi’s has made to improve our experience because of the feedback guests have provided.
About CiCi’s Pizza:
Coppell, Texas-based CiCi’s Pizza opened its first restaurant in Plano, Texas, in 1985 and has nearly 500 restaurants in 34 states. They are known for endless pizza, pasta, salad, soup and dessert buffet. CiCi’s Pizza is the 2nd largest bakery in Texas! They make 2,000 pizzas a week!
CiCi’s upgrades include more cheese, a zestier sauce and garlic buttered crust. Additionally, CiCi’s is using a better sausage and heavier pepperoni. The larger pizza has 40% more toppings per pizza. Every crust is made from scratch in-house and each pizza is cooked in a conveyor-style oven in five minutes.
I was able to make a pizza when I was at the preview event:
After the dough ball is flattened, CiCi’s employees use a docker (that pointer roller) to put holes in the dough. The docker prevents bubbles from forming when the pizza cooks. Then the new zestier sauce is added, from the outside in so that you get food in every bite! Next is cheese, again, from the outside in and then toppings.
Five minutes after I created my masterpiece, it came back hot and ready to eat! The employees put it in a box and then a warmer so I could take it home with me.
You will see fewer pizzas on the counter now, but you can put in a special order for anything you like. They’ll bring out a personal pizza with whatever you’ve requested. You’ll also find more options in the salad bar, garlic cheesy bread and flatbread pizzas. My favorite is the Alfredo Pizza – if you haven’t tried it, you should!

That after pizza looks a lot better! It’s been ages since I’ve been in one. Eating gluten and dairy free has me not doing pizza much. But, when I was teaching, I had their buffalo pizza! Yum!!
They still have that buffalo chicken pizza!
Our family doesn’t do CiCi’s. My kids have always refused to eat there so I have yet to try their food. It sounds like they are really revamping the pizza, it sounds good.
It has been awhile since I’ve been to CiCi’s, but maybe I’ll go there this weekend. Their pizza is unbelievably cheap and amazing!
