One of my favorite things about summer is staying up late for movie night! And, every good movie night deserves a great (non-candy) snack, right? Kellogg’s is our go-to movie snack because it’s so easy to eat like it is (with or without milk) or modify to make another kind of snack.
Last weekend I ran into Walmart and grabbed a box of Kellogg’s. Because I was already there, I thought I’d look at the selection of Disney Fire and Rescue Planes. I threw a few in my cart to surprise my boys with!
An hour or so after dinner on Sunday night, the boys were ready for movie night so we had a bowl of Froot Loops at the table. Colin wanted to play while we ate, so as long as he could multi-task, it was allowed.
When they were finished eating, I put in Disney’s PLANES and then we snuggled up on the couch to enjoy the show! Of course, the snuggling didn’t last long. Pretty soon James and Colin were playing with their new (and ‘old’) planes while we watched the movie.
Our cereal box is still plenty full but when the box is empty, I think we are going to make a runway for our planes! It won’t take up much space because it’ll fold flat and it can be recycled when it gets worn out!
Look for specially marked boxes of Kellogg’s cereals (Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, and Corn Pops) to check out the Planes Fire & Rescue movie promotion. When you buy one of the select boxes of cereal, you’ll get five great offers: $7 off a movie ticket, $10 off the Disney PLANES video game, $1 off two boxes of Kellogg’s fruit snacks, $1 off Planes Fire and Rescue Little Golden book or $1 off die-cast toys! If you are already buying Kellogg’s, that’s a fantastic deal!
What are your favorite Kellogg’s cereals?

We have arguments in my house about whether the different colors of Froot Loops really have different flavors. They aren’t supposed to, but my kids swear they taste different. #Client
Sara Phillips says
I think they taste different, too! I think it’s just a trick our minds play on us because they are different colors.

We had a young lady from Italy stay with us for 3 months last year and one of the things she was looking forward to is fruit loops! I don’t serve them to my children but we made an exception… Our go-to snack for our family movie night is home-popped organic pop-corn.. i drizzle a little maple syrup and sprinkle some cinnamon.. I can’t say it’s much better than candy as far as the sugar content goes but it is yummy!
Sara Phillips says
That popcorn sure does sound good, though!!

Great idea to have cereal as movie snacks. I always have a box of fruit loops or frosted flakes around when my nieces come over. I don’t eat cereal often, but when I do Frosted Flakes is my favorite go-to cereal.

Oh, my! I saw the toys on our last trip to Walmart. We have several of the planes from the first movie… but the new additions are darling! As a kid I adored Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes. I don’t eat much cereal now, but have some great memories of those morning bowls and the toys stashed inside.
Wendy says
we all love cereal for snacks here. I miss the days of buying “CARS’ cars, as we called it. I remember laughing as my MIL called me from a store in another state saying that she found Fendimore in blue- and should she get it? SNIFF.
Sara Phillips says
HA! I am STILL collecting CARS! I have an ottoman full of them! Do you still have yours?
Chelle @ Oh Just Stop Already says
I haven’t eaten Kellogg’s in a couple years now that I actually think about it. But when I did I adored Frosted Flakes. My kids love it too.
