It’s been a long time since I’ve purchased a car! My first two cars were purchased used and my most recent purchase (11 years ago) was a new car. When the time comes, I will probably buy used again. But there are some things you should know before you set out to purchase a used car. Here are my 9 best tips.

- Determine which car(s) you want
- Know when to buy
- Do your research
- Check the vehicle history
- Inspect the car
- Test drive the car
- Be willing to walk away
- Before you make the purchase, ask about the return policy
Remember, buying a car – even used – is a big purchase! Don’t impulse buy.
