**Full Disclosure: This post is brought to you by Global Influence. All opinions and many of the holiday card display ideas are my own.
One of my favorite things about Christmas is going to the mailbox and pulling out holiday cards. Looking at each card and the included photos is so much fun! But then I bring those cards into my house and think, ‘Man! What am I going to do with this now?’
Growing up, my mom used to stand the cards up along the mantel or put them in a wall hanger. Neither method was my preference. The cards standing on the mantel would fall over if you walked by or opened the back door. And if you tried to look at one, you’d knock the rest over like dominoes. If the cards were put in the wall hanger, you had to dig through to see if there were new cards (because they were in no particular order).
6 Creative Holiday Card Display Ideas:
Make a Coffee Table Book – Michelle at Allen Designs uses a hole punch and binder rings to make a quick and easy coffee table book for her holiday cards. I would combine years together after the holidays but comparing the old photos to the new photos each year would be fun!
Use Old Shutters – Courtney from A Diamond in the Stuff re-purposes old shutters to make a great piece of holiday wall art – specifically designed to hold holiday cards!
Make Holiday Garland – There are many, many suggestions for holiday garland but I really like the cranberry card garland I found at A Party Style. It’s super cute and looks oh, so easy!
Use a Memo Board – Maybe you already have a memo board or maybe you want to make/buy one but this would be a nice way to display a few cards. The wooden board that Southern Whim created is absolutely fantastic!
Set out a Holiday Card Christmas Tree – This wouldn’t work for my house, but I would use a put up a Christmas Card Tree like Kelly’s Korner Blog if I had the space!
Cupboard Ribbons – I’ve seen this floating around Pinterest since I created my account. I really like how Melissa at Greener Grass threw together this simple card display.
There are so many great holiday card display ideas but the six above were all designs I could see myself making (and using!).

I created my own display last year using a pallet board. It’s still in great condition and I can’t wait to use it http://lookwhatmomfound.com/2013/12/pallet-board-card-display-diy.html

We actually tape ours to the door frame around our kitchen doorway. It faces our living room. But I do like some of these suggestions better.

I am loving some of these ideas! I always struggle with what to do with Holiday Cards. I’m going to try the cupboard ribbons I think.

I love the idea of a coffee table book, my kids like to look at the cards and this would let them do that while keeping them organized. The shutter one is super cute and creative too.

I have put our holiday cards into a hanging fabric file thing for years. I got it at Family Christian bookstores. But you can’t actually see the cards when they are in the pockets. I love the idea of the garland. Thank you!

Oh I LOVE the garland idea! I wonder if the cats would leave it alone if I hung it from the mantle LOL
Sara Phillips says

I have a wall that I display them all on. Then after Christmas is over, I put the picture cards in our scrapbook for that year. I love going back and looking at all the pictures in the past years.

I love Christmas cards and I am sad that more and more of our friends are sending digital cards now. I love placing them on our mantle or on ribbons that drape here and there as my mom used to do. I love the shutter idea you shared thank you!

I don’t get many, so I just stick them wherever. Maybe I such dig out my stash of vintage cards and use some of these display ideas for them.

I’m embarrassed to admit this but we just prop our cards on the platform and that’s it. But with all these creative ideas, I’m thinking I should step up my game this year! 😉

I really like the old window shutter idea! My aunt made us a wreath for our first Christmas as a married couple. It has lots of ribbon tied around it so we can hang cards from it.

I have a santa clause with pockets that I use, but last year I didn’t take it out of storage so I just taped them to my basement door.
