Last week I posted about how I am taking part in a ‘30 things my kids should know about me‘ challenge. First on the list?
I don’t know how easy it would be for me to come up with twenty random facts about myself. It took me about a week to come up with all of these!
- I have my father’s temper. When Mom tells him that I have his temper, Pop says, ‘No, I still have my own temper.’
- My first gray hair appeared when I was 29.
- From the time I was in Kindergarten, I wanted to be a teacher. After I took the pre-student teaching classes, I knew I didn’t want to teach. As of today, I am about two classes from a degree in education.
- I enjoy watching ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ … and, yes, I know how silly it really is.
- ‘Sara’ means ‘Princess’ in Hebrew. Most days, I’d like to think it is an accurate description of me!
- I adore Disney movies – and I don’t think they are just for kids.
- I am not the greatest housewife there ever was. Dusting, vacuuming and cleaning bathrooms are the things I despise most.
- I actually enjoy baking, cooking and doing dishes.
- Often, I feel like my husband is the better parent.
- I hate being alone. It’s so BORING!
- Most days, I like my handwriting.
- My eyes are my favorite physical feature.
- I pride myself on knowing how to spell.
- Proving my husband wrong is something I take pleasure in doing.
- I don’t like to be read to. I need to see it for me to really absorb it.
- I am stubborn. I know what I want, like what I like and am not a fan of change.
- I like to nap in the car. Because of that, I would much rather be the passenger than the driver!
- I had ORANGE hair once. I tried to go red, but it didn’t take and I had to strip it. It wasn’t pretty.
- I threw up in my sister’s (new) car when I was pregnant with James. And then she made me clean it up!
- I make macarons. They aren’t pretty, but they sure are yummy!
Tell me one fact about you!
Love #1…your dad sounds like some in my family.
great list
Great job, Sara!
I was surprised to see we have so much in common! (7, 8, 13, and 15–I’d claim for myself, too. Others, my husband especially, would say 14 & 16 were characteristics of mine, also)
It was fun learning more about you. Thanks for sharing (Princess)
oh, about being read to–I don’t enjoy audio books; however, reading doesn’t guarantee I’ll grasp something.
Loved your 20 facts, especially # 1. I also had orange hair once!
This was fun to read! As for #4, I think everyone needs a silly escape like that. 🙂 I very much prefer reading, I tried audio books to pass the time while sewing but felt like I never fully grasped the plot.
I can identify with a lot of these! Especially the orange hair. Even though, mine was more ‘champagne pink’ – it was horrible!
I LOVE being alone and I never get bored! lol I can drive all day and be fine but if I’m a passenger, I’m sleepy. It’s weird!
Yea, I am fine if I drive, but I would much rather sleep! 😉
YOU MADE IT TO 29!?!! LOL I am so jealous!!
I had orange hair once too! Or at least part of it was orange. The root was WHITE and then faded into every shade of red and orange you could imagine… ick.
We have quite a few things on common–especially #7! LOL!
One thing about me: I have no Irish on me–as far as I know, but for some reason, I will just say a word or phrase with an Irish accent (sometimes other random accents) without even thinking. My family always cracks up and I have NO idea why I do this! LOL
I don’t think Disney movies are just for kids either!
#18 . . . I had orange hair too, once upon a time. It was all due to that Sun In stuff. OMGosh it turned my entire head of light brown hair, VIBRANT ORANGE. I was 14. My mom was going to ground me but the color of my hair ended up being punishment enough.
Oh, I can so relate to #14 and 15! 🙂
That’s great that you knew you wanted to be a teacher at such a young age and you are now so close to it
I won’t ever actually teach. I think I’ll finish it just to say I have a degree.
I am a car napper too!
I had my first grey at 27! And I have my father’s temper too. It’s not a good thing.
You sound like quite the extrovert! I like to be around people then retreat to my sanctuary to recharge my batteries. 😉
I can relate to #9 and I wonder how many other moms feel like this.
Oh my gosh. It would take my forever to do this. I will have to try this on my blog. This is a great way to bond with your readers.
I would say one random fact about me is that I am also a handmade jewelry artist.
How cool! What’s your favorite thing to make?
I actually love to work with metal. Copper, Brass, Sterling Silver. I do heavy duty jewelry work, hammering, torching, soldering and I love making rings.
Neat!
I can lick my elbow. 🙂
lol, how bad is it that I just tried to do this.
I think it’s great! I want to read it!
lol, I meant like my elbow :p
LOL! All I am thinking is, ‘There is NO WAY I could do that!’ (I can’t tell where the comment sits in the dashboard.)
Not bad at all! 🙂
That’s CRAZY! How’d you discover that?!
I heard on the radio that it was impossible to do and like most people hear that they try to do it – and I could! Turns out it’s not so impossible after all.
I totally have my father’s temper and I love General Hospital. #14 made me laugh
I had purple hair when I was in high school. 🙂
When I was in high school and skinny… I had my belly button pierced. I still have the scar from the hole.
I pierced mine, too! But it only lasted three days before I took it out.
