Preheat oven to 350°

Using a bread knife, slice the French bread in half and put it on a cookie sheet.

Place the sliced cheese on both sides of the bread, slightly over-lapping.

Add deli meat - as much or as little as you want - to the bottom section of the bread.

Do not close the sandwich!

Bake (open faced!) for 8-10 minutes, or until the top cheese is bubbly.

Add toppings, and cut to 'fit' each person.
