Chicken and Dumplings #Recipe

Ingredients

For the soup:

  • 3-5 Raw Chicken Breasts cubed
  • 8-10 Hard-Boiled Eggs diced
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

For the dumplings:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening or butter
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

Dumpling Preparation:

  1. Put flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Cut in the shortening (or butter) until it looks like meal. Stir in the milk.

How To:

  1. Fill a large pot with water. Add cubed chicken, salt & pepper. Boil about 30 minutes.
  2. After about 20 minutes, make your dumpling dough.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture into the chicken water.
  4. Cover and cook for about 15 minutes. Stir gently every once in awhile (you don't want to break your dumplings, but you don't want them to stick to the bottom of the pot).
  5. Uncover, add eggs and cook another 15 minutes. Stir gently every 5 minutes or so.
  6. Serve & Enjoy!
