**Full Disclosure: As part of the Windows Champions blogger program, I will be loaned two devices (with Windows 8.1) for the next year. I will also have the opportunity to learn more about Windows and Microsoft. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Microsoft retail stores offer classes where technology meets creativity (for kids ages 8 – 13). They are called YouthSpark Summer Camps. Kids and parents can choose from four (4) different classes or register for all of them. (Note: parents must stay in the store during the camp.)
The best part? These are FREE YouthSpark summer camps!! It’s part of Microsoft’s YouthSpark commitment to provide 300 million youth around the world with better access to technology and educational opportunities in order to set them up for future success.
2014 YouthSpark Summer Camps:
Smart Game Coding: Go behind the scenes and learn how to code, program, and play in your own gaming world. You’ll use kid-friendly programming to learn how creativity and problem solving come together to make something all your own.
Smart Game Designing: Learn how to build, publish, and bring mobile games to life. Make your own virtual world and bring it to life so you can create games, movies, and unique digital experiences.
Smart Movie Making: Unleash your imagination and go from script to screen – and all the moving steps in between. We’ll teach you how to produce, direct, design and animate your own flicks using Windows Phone and Surface Pro.
Smart Photo Taking: Make photos pop and learn new tricks for capturing, editing and sharing great photos from your phone. We’ll help you build interactive worlds in Photosynth, turn yourself into art with Photo Fuse, and more.
James is already signed up for the Smart Photo Taking class! I suggest signing up as soon as possible as some classes are already close to capacity!
Where to Register? Visit http://content.microsoftstore.com/en-us/summercamps/ to register for any of these classes while they’re still open at your local Microsoft retail store!
Do you think your kiddo(s) would love these camps? Which one(s) would they like best?!
